(Persia Digest) – Iranian Foreign Minister, Javad Zarif, has landed in Senegal on the first leg of his intercontinental trip.
Speaking about his agenda, he said: “Traveling to four African and South American countries is aimed at strengthening bilateral and economic ties. To this end, I am accompanied by a large delegation of private and state sector directors of Iran on this trip.”
He added: “We have good ties and economic relations with Senegal. Apart from bilateral ties, we will also discuss economic cooperation with Senegal as an important country in Africa.”
Iran’s top diplomat said that Iran was active in the automotive industry of Senegal, and reiterated: “There is more opportunity for the two countries to work together.”
He continued by saying: “We hope to be able to develop ties further in non-oil exports and technical-engineering services with our Senegalese friends and other counterparts during the rest of our trip.”
As reported by Persia Digest, FM Zarif left Tehran for Senegal on Sunday afternoon and will be traveling to Namibia, Brazil, and Uruguay.
