(Persia Digest) – Tehran University Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science faculty member becomes permanent member of the World Academy of Sciences.
Siamak Yasemi PhD is a Tehran University faculty member and a member of the IR of Iran Academy of Sciences mathematics department. He has been elected as the permanent member of TWAS.
He is the first Iranian member of the World Academy of Sciences in the mathematics branch.
The PR Office of Iran’s Ministry of Sciences has announced that there are presently 14 Iranian members in the Academy. Of these, four are in the physics branch, four in the chemistry branch, four in the medical branch, one in engineering, and one in the agricultural branch of TWAS. Dr Yasemi has now joined the mathematics branch of the Academy as its new Iranian member.
The World Science Academy for the advancement of science in developing countries was established in 1983 and is based in Italy.
