(Persia Digest) - Peugeot carmakers PSA Group has invited IKAP (joint venture between Iran Khodro and Peugeot), to collaborate in a project to manufacture 70 thousand vehicles in the city of Oran, Algeria.
“Iran is a competitive country in terms of energy and human resources, therefore, we will apply all of our quality standards in this country” the executive vice president of Peugeot, Janick Bazard, said in a statement.
Pointing out that their history of cooperation with the Iran Khodro Industrial Group (IKAP) has been a long one, he said, "We have been doing everything we have promised so far and will continue to do so."
He stated that manufacturing in Iran and the export of spare parts to Algeria are one of the options offered to Iranian manufacturers. "The second option is to create a manufacture line in Algeria. In both options, Iranian manufacturers will enter this project as a member of Peugeot" he stated.
He also pointed out: “Given the fact that the selected members are the best in their field of work, they can also take steps to supply spare parts to the entire European market, which is the new plan of the PSA Group”.
He stated that one of the benefits of the presence of Iranian automakers in the Algeria project is that they can familiarize with new companies and the supply of spare parts to European markets.
