(Persia Digest) - “Starless dreams” by Mehrdad Oskuei has won two awards at the Budapest International Documentary Festival (BIDF) for the Children and Young Adults Jury Award

As reported by ISNA, the 4th edition of the Budapest Festival ran 23-28 January 2018 in Hungary. The documentary “Starless dreams” was in the Competition category with over 40 long documentaries from countries such as Italy, Denmark, Poland, German, Spain, France, Croatia, Mexico, Holland, Switzerland, Chile, UK, Austria, USA, and the host country. It managed to win two awards from the Children and Young Adults Jury.

“Starless dreams” is internationally distributed by Nasrin Mir-Shab and narrates the story of a young girl who is awaiting her freedom documents from the rehabilitation center in Tehran just before the Iranian Nowruz New Year.

The Berlinale Amnesty International Film Prize, the US True/False Festival Grand Prize for best documentary-maker 2916, and the US Full Frame Festival Grand Prize and Inspirational Award are some of the international acclamations of “Starless dreams”.
