(Persia Digest) – Simultaneously with the premiere of Iranian films at the Fajr International Film Festival, the country’s short film cinema is also going through busy days at international festivals and the appointment of an Iranian woman to the Nepal Festival jury.
Zohreh Zamani has been invited to the sixth edition of the Nepal Human Rights International Film Festival.
The Festival is a platform to focus on human rights around the world through films. Zohreh Zamani, Iranian woman filmmaker and the Head of Anzali Port Youth Cinema Association will travel to Katmandu as a judge for the Festival from 7-10 March 2018.
Four Iranian films in India
Four Iranian films have been admitted to the 3rd Golden Triangle International Film Festival (GTIFF) starting 9 February in India.
Feature, short fiction, animation, and documentaries will be competing together at GTIFF which is also hosting four films from Iran.
The animation “Spectators” by Mohsen Bagheri-Dastgerdi will be screened in the short film category.
“The Narcissus season” by Negar Azarbaijani, “Italia, Italia” by Kaveh Sabbaghzadeh, and “Fairy form” are representing Iran at the Festival.
Iranian night in Vancouver
The 21st Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival has dedicated a special night to Iran on 12 February.
Three short films and a feature length film with the theme of mountain climbing in Iran will be screened here. In part of the program, a speech will be given by Parvaneh Kazemi, Iranian woman record holder to summit the Everest. She is also the first woman in the world to summit Everest and Lhotse in one successful season.
The Iranian night of the 21st Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival will be held on 12 February.
