(Persia Digest) – Head of the Education Evaluation Organization of Iran, Dr Ebrahim Khodaei, has announced that 1.9% of world science is produced in Iran, while Iran has only one percent of the world's population.
At a ceremony honouring the top scientific Olympiad participants at the Amirkabir University of Technology, Dr Khodaei said that Amirkabir is in the top five universities in the country in PhD student enrolments and acceptances: “Large universities around the world provide 30-35% of their revenues from overseas students. Our universities must take steps to achieve this and Amirkabir is leading the way.”
Dr Khodaei finished by saying: “We must be grateful for the high number of students in our country. There are no other countries in the world where its people are so eager to continue their higher education and this makes the task of universities even more important.”
The Department of Statistical Research at the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology has announced the number of graduates and undergraduates for the scholastic year 2017-2018 as follows: “Associate degree: 748 677 students; undergraduates: 2 335 729 students; graduates:
