(Persia Digest) – It is gallery galore in Tehran these days; but, if you interested in seeing the pinnacle of seventy years of work by an artist, you must make your way to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tehran.
The Museum is currently hosting the works of painter, illustrator, sculptor, and animator Ali-Akbar Sadeghi. Over 200 works from the artist’s lifetime achievements, including paintings, murals, sculptures, painting on glass, illustrations, and rare animations are showcased here.
The exhibit will run until 14 April 2018.
The Fajr International Festival of Visual Arts is also open to the public with its category of painting pioneers among others, at the Saba Cultural Center and the Palestine Museum of Contemporary Art.
This will run until 23 February, from 10h00 to 20h00 every day, and from 15h00 to 20h00 on Fridays.
Silk Road Gallery
The 8th edition of the “Shid Photography Prize” opened on Friday 2 February 2018 and will run until 19 February. “Shid” means light in Persian and is an independent professional photography prize awarded to a social documentary photographer every year.
The calligraphy works of Hossein Ghanavati, entitled “Addressing contemporary poetry” looks into new poetry from 16 February in Lajevard Gallery affiliated to “Ketab Araei-ye Irani Institute”.
The exhibition will run for a week until 22 February for enthusiasts of the visual arts and poetry.
