(Persia Digest) - The first Iranian film festival will be held in three cities of Malaysia with the screening of six films and the presence of two groups of Iranian artists for 11 days in March.
This event aims to expand cultural interactions between Iran and Malaysia, as well as introducing Iran’s art and film industry to people and cinema lovers in this country.
Under the Smoky Roof (Pouran Derakhshandeh), Sweet Taste of Imagination (Kamal Tabrizi), Crazy Rook (Abolhassan Davoodi), The Queen (Mohammad Ali Bashe Ahangar), Cease Fire 2 (Tahmineh Milani), Where Are My Shoes? (Kiumars Pourahmad), are the six Iranian films being screened in Malaysia from 7 to 17 March 2018.
During the Iranian film festival in Malaysia, two groups of Iranian directors and actors will also be present.
In the first group, Under the Smoky Roof’s director Pouran Derakhshandeh, and Merila Zarei, the actor will go to Kuala Lumpur for the first part of the festival.
Abolhassan Davoodi, director of the movie Crazy Rook, and Azita Hajian, an actor who has appeared in many Iranian films and TV series, will also go to Penang and Johor for the second part of the festival.
The selected Iranian films will be screened in four Malaysian cinemas thirty-six times totally.
Iranian films will be screened publicly for free in Golden Screen Cinema in Mid Valley Megamall, and Pavilion in Kuala Lumpur, Golden Screen Cinema in Plaza Gurney in Penang, and Golden Screen Cinema in Paradigm Mall in Johor Bahru.
