(Persia Digest) – Kermanshah Province Governor has announced: “We are presently working on plans for the Kermanshah 2020 scheme, with emphasis on the tourism sector in this province. We are hoping to receive governmental approval shortly.”
Speaking at the 11th meeting of Iranian travel guides, Governor Houshang Bazvand added: “Kermanshah is a talented province with high potentials. One of these is undoubtedly its tourism sector.”
He said: “Kermanshah has all the requirements to become a hub for natural, historical, and religious tourism and more. It these are put to good use, we can trace a different image of the province.”
Kermanshah Governor continued by saying: “We are researching the Kermanshah 2020 project with the aim of taking a big step in developing tourism here. Today, travel and tourism has a special place in the family basket and we must provide the infrastructures and opportunities in Kermanshah to attract large crowds of visitors and sightseers to our area.”
As of today, over 4000 historic sites have been identified in Kermanshah Province, over 2200 of which have been registered as a national heritage. Its Bistoun site has been registered by the Unesco World Heritage.
