(Persia Digest) - The twenty-second edition of the Canadian International Film Festival "Regard" has dedicated a section to review short films by young Iranian filmmaker Ghasideh Golmakani.
Regard Festival, which is approved by the Oscars Academy, is one of the most acclaimed short film festivals in North America. In its latest edition, a section is dedicated to short films "Limbo", "Online Shopping" and "Horn" by Qasideh Golmakani, in which the director is also present.
A review session of Golmakani's films hosted by the Canadian critic and journalist Manon Dumais, who runs film columns in newspapers and magazines such as "Voir", "Media Film" and "Press", will also be held.
Ghasideh Golmakani holds three master's degrees in “Arts and Commerce”, “Cultural Studies”, and “Cultural Management” from France. She is also a student of Cinema at Sorbonne University, and her doctoral dissertation on "Cultural Studies" has been an influential source for young Iranian filmmakers in the last decade.
Her films have been screened in film festivals such "Cinequest" and "Santa Barbara" in the US and "Drama" in Greece. The 22nd edition of "Regard" Film Festival will be held from 14 March to 18 March in the city of Saguenay, Quebec, Canada.
