(Persia Digest) – The Iranian calendar year is approaching its final days (1396 HS) with only eighteen days left to go, leaving behind a year of highlighted presence on the world stage by the short and feature film industry of Iran.
The feature “Harim-e Shakhsi” [Personal space], produced by Fajr Cinematic Organization (Abdolreza Saatchi-Fard and Amir Saatchi-Fard), will be screened at the Vancouver cinematheque in Canada on 15 and 19 March 2018.
The script has been written by Amir Saatchi-Fard and it is the first film of Ahmad Moazami. “Diyar”, “Pacific United Productions”, and Phoenix Cultural Center are in charge of screening in Canada.
Short Iranian film in Baghdad Festival
Short Iranian film “Visor” will be screened at the third Baghdad 3 Minutes 3 Days Film Festival.
The film lasts for 100 seconds and is directed by Ali Azizollahi. It is produced by Mohammad Ghan’e-Fard and narrates the story of a split second when an Iranian photographer comes face to face with an Iraqi sharp shooter at the war front.
The third edition of 3 Minutes 3 Days Film Festival will run from 3-5 March in Baghdad.
“Kursu” [Glimmer] at the 20th Ismaili Film Festival for Documentaries & Shorts
“Kursu” [Glimmer] directed by Omid Abdollahi has been invited to the 20th Ismaili Film Festival for Documentaries & Shorts in Egypt.
It has received the Special Jury Prize at the 35th International Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival and the Grand Prize of the 10th Sapporo International Short Film Festival & Market in Japan. Abdollahi has had two other films – “Panseman” [Bandage] and “Mizban” [Hostess] - screened at the Art & Experience Cineplex.
The 20th Ismaili Film Festival for Documentaries & Shorts will run from 11-17 April 2018 in Egypt.
