(Persia Digest) - 27 March is World Theater Day and National Day of Performing Arts in Iran. Iran is celebrating this day in 33 provinces with theatrical performances.
This year, on 27 March, simultaneously with the New Year in Iran (Nowruz), the World Theater Day and Day of Performing Arts will be celebrated with performances in 33 provinces of Iran. Some of these performances are traditional and ritual native shows, and some are stage and street performances; Nowruz carnivals will be held in some of the cities.
On World Theater Day and the National Day of Performing Arts, the provinces of West and East Azerbaijan, Tehran, Alborz, Aras Free Zone, Isfahan, Ilam, Bushehr, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, North and Razavi Khorasan, Khuzestan, Zanjan, Fars, Qazvin, Kerman, Guilan, Hormozgan and Hamedan will host the Iranian New Year celebrations and stage performances and carnivals.
The provinces of Qom, Qeshm, Kermanshah, Golestan, Lorestan, Mazandaran, Markazi, Yazd, Arvand Free Zone, Kohkiluyeh and Boyerahmad and Kurdistan also have street performances at the same time.
Iran's theater artists will celebrate the second edition of National Day of Performing Arts at the same time as the World Theater Day on 27 March 2018.
