(Persia Digest) – In response to the claims of the Zionist Prime Minister, Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani, has said: “Those who have spent the last 70 years causing chaos, war, and destruction in the region, continuously massacred people, and created the Sabra and Shatila tragedy, are not in a position to call Iran a danger. Iran is not a danger to anyone. Iran is tantamount to regional stability and security. Of course, it will alwaysreserve the right to defend itself.”
At a meeting with Senate Majority Leader, Mitch Mcconnell, Senate Minority Leader, Charles Schumer, and members of the Foreign Relations Committee on Tuesday night, Benjamin Netanyahu repeated his baseless claims against Tehran and accused Iran once again of intending to create a military base in Syria.
In response to these claims yesterday, the Iranian President pointed out to the steps taken by some regional countries against Iran in pursuit of their old policies of Iranophobia, and said: “Iran will always pursue respect and honor; it has never sought the oppression of others. We have never bombed our neighbors or pressurized its peoples. Not only have we never displaced people from their own counties, but we have always welcomed displaced people as our guests.”
Rouhani stated that the economic, cultural, political, social, and in particular military might of the IR of Iran is never intended to be against anyone, and added: “Our military power is solely a deterrent. We will only use it to defend our country.”
He continued by saying: “Our weapons are deterrents to keep peace and strengthen security and stability. It is to keep ourselves from being attacked. Therefore, no one must worry about Iran’s arms, missiles, or strengths; because, history has shown that we have not invaded anyone in the 40 years since the Islamic Revolution.”
