(Persia Digest) - The traditional music ensemble Kohan, led by Kamyar Fanian, will perform at the Mozart Conservatory in Salzburg.
Kohan group is currently in Europe on their concert tours on the Green Continent. They will have a special performance in Salzburg on the night of 15 March at the Mozart Conservatory, one of Europe's most famous musical centers.
This performance has three parts. In the first part Kamyar Fanian will play the dotar of east Khorasan. In the second part, there will be a tanbur and daf duo performed by Fanian and Mansouri. In the final part, some pieces from the album "Close Silence" will be performed by all the members.
The group performed in Graz, Austria on 7 March, and will perform in Gutenberg (Sweden) on 16 March, and Copenhagen (Denmark) on 18 March.
Javid Ebrahimpour, ney player, Sajjad Mansouri, tonbak player, Parsa Hasandokht, the vocals, and Ashkan Rahbar, shurangiz player, are members of the ensemble on the European tour. Also, Farshad Haghighi will join the ensemble in Gutenberg and Copenhagen to play tanbur in a different part of the performance.
The leader of the ensemble is Kamyar Fanian, a scholar and researcher of Iranian and folk music.
