(Persia Digest) – Iranian-American lawyer, Nazak Nikakhtar, has been sworn in as the new Assistant Secretary of Commerce (Industry and Analysis).
The Senate confirmed her appointment on 19 March 2018 by voice vote.
Nikakhtar has been active in a practice in Washington, focusing on international trade, including antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings among others.
She is a graduate of Syracuse University Los Angeles. She was also a lecturer at Georgetown University.
