(Persia Digest) – The first World Super 6-Men Sitting Volleyball Championships have taken place in Tabriz, northwestern Iran, culminating in a win by the home team.
The finals took place on Tuesday afternoon at the Sadra Court in Tabriz between Iran and Russia. The Iranian national team beat their opponents 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 28-26) to take the title.
The men’s Sitting Volleyball team had won their qualifying games with Russia, Ukraine, Bosnia, Germany, and the US respectively.
This latest win by the National Sitting Volleyball team completes their victories for Iran. The team had previously won the Paralympics, Asian Para Games, and the World ParaVolley (WOVD) championships.
Ukraine and Bosnia met prior to the finals for a rankings game in which Bosnia won to take third place.
