(Persia Digest) - Antalya State Symphony Orchestra in Turkey, led by Ali Rahbari and Mohammad Motamedi as the vocalist, will perform the symphonic poem "My Mother, Iran".
Ali Rahbari and Mohammad Motamedi have begun their rehearsals of the symphonic poem "My Mother, Iran" along with the Antalya State Symphonic Orchestra.
The performance, at the invitation of the Cultural and Art Foundation of Antalya (Turkey), is based on traditional Iranian music. "My Mother, Iran", which is composed in seven parts using the poetry of Sa’di Shirazi and Mohammad Farid Naseri, has been dedicated to masters such as Hossein Alizadeh, Hossein Dehlavi, Rouhollah Khaleghi, Rahmatollah Badi’ei, Mostafa Kamalpourtorab, Mohammad Reza Shajarian and Hamdam Rahbari (the composer's mother).
This is the first time in music history that a non-Iranian orchestra has officially invited a traditional music vocalist in its annual subscription.
The concert, "My Mother, Iran", composed by Ali Rahbari, will be staged on Friday, 27 April at Antalya’s Aspendos Hall.
