(Persia Digest) – A new tour of classical Persian music has been planned across Iran. The weekend will see a concert by Shahram Nazeri in Kermanshah, and by Kayhan Kalhor and Erdal Erzincan in Rasht and Shiraz following their international tours.
Shahram Nazeri is a popular vocalist and composer of classical Persian music. His concert will be in Kermanshah, western Iran on 10 May 2018. His last concert in Kermanshah was with Hafez Nazeri last year.
Continuing their worldwide tours, Kayhan Kalhor and Erdal Erzincan have now reached Iran. Kayhan Kalhor is a renowned Iranian Kamancheh player who has formed a duet with Erdal Erzincan from Turkey who plays the bağlama. They are now touring Iran with their new concerts.
These two prominent musicians who performed together in Tehran’s Vahdat Hall last year will stage their concerts on 6 and 7 May 2018 in Shiraz, and 8-10 May in Rasht, northern Iran. Kalhor and Erzenjan will play their improvised music with the Kamancheh and bağlama.
After the concert in Rasht, they will travel to Boston and New York for their overseas tour.
Their summer tour in Iran will be in the cities of Isfahan, Kermanshah, Tabriz, Hamedan, and Sanandaj.
