(Persia Digest) – The Iranian Ambassador to Beijing has announced: “The President of Iran will be arriving in Beijing tomorrow, Friday, to take part in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), discuss their support for the JCPOA, and expand ties between the two countries.”
Ali-Asghar Khaji said that Rouhani’s 3-day visit will last until Sunday 10 June 2018, and added: “There are other meetings on the President’s agenda, including one with Russian President Putin.”
He continued: “Four basic documents to be signed on this trip include fighting drugs and organized crime, an increased role for Iran in the One Belt One Road initiative, cooperation on the stock exchange, and cooperation between Iranian and Chinese universities.”
Khaji also pointed to the global support for the JCPOA, and stated: “All SCO member countries hold a similar stance to Iran on the JCPOA and stress on safeguarding it as an international agreement endorsed by a UNSC resolution.”
