In part of Soltanifar’s report to the President, it is written: “For the first time after the victory of the Islamic revolution, families were able to watch Iran at the World Cup 2018 in Russia on monitors at the stadium by adhering to Islamic values. The audience was widely receptive and it created an atmosphere of joy among the young and their families. It also had a very good social reflection at home and abroad.”

Persia Digest reports that preventing women from attending stadiums has been greatly objected to in recent years. Due to religious beliefs in Iran, women are barred from watching men’s games live in stadiums. With the President’s recent order, it remains to be seen whether women will be allowed to watch the football premier league or Team Melli matches in stadiums.
