(Persia Digest) – Following their concert “Nagofteh” [Untold] in Iran, the Nazeris will soon be touring five cities in Canada with a number of musicians from around the world.
After the passing of four years since Shahram and Hafez’s international tours in Canada, they will be performing in this country once again.
The Nazeris have designed a concert of fusion music from the east and west with verses from Molana as a small token for the world to become more familiar with original Iranian art and culture.
The tour will start in Ottawa on 13 October and continue in Montreal, Toronto, and Calgary, ending in Vancouver on 28 October.
Persia Digest reports that Shahram Nazeri is a popular musician and vocalist in Iran. He was granted the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government in 2007 and is known as the “Chevalier of Persian Music” in Iran. He has also received the “Living legend” award from UCLA. He is a pioneer of performing verses by Molana. His Molavieh, album known as “The Passion of Rumi” overseas, was a Grammy Award nominee in the US in 2007. In the same year, he received the Sama golden badge from Asin Chalabi.
Hafez Nazeri began his training in music with his father at the age of nine. “The Passion of Rumi” is his first album with his father in which he performs and has also arranged the music. He has completed his studies at the Mannes School of Music in New York in composition and orchestral conducting.
