(Persia Digest) - Based on data by the Turkish Statistical Institute, Iranian citizens have bought 944 housing units in the country’s different cities, more than three times the same period last year.

According to the report by the Turkish Statistical Institute, Iraqis having purchased 1,987 housing units, are at the top of the list of foreign citizens who have bought homes in Turkey. Citizens of Saudi Arabia are ranked second on this list.

The largest sale of housing units to foreigners was 3,999 units in Istanbul; Antalya and Bursa ranked second and third.

The reason for the increase in the purchase of housing units in Turkey is for citizens of foreign countries to obtain residence permits and citizenship rights and also currency rate fluctuations in Turkey and the purchasing countries.
