(Persia Digest) – The Sungun Copper Futsal Team representing Iran at the 9th AFC Futsal Championship has beaten Thái Sơn Nam Futsal Club from Vietnam to rank first in the competitions.
Sungun Copper won 4-2. One goal was scored by Hossein Tayebi and one by Asghar Hassanzadeh. Farhad Fakhim scored the other two goals.
The Iranian team won the Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Lebanon, and Kyrgyzstan teams to reach the semifinals and beat the Naft Al-Wasat Iraqi team 3-2.
Iranian team member, Mahdi Javid, who plays for Bank of Beirut won the AFC golden boot and best player as top scorer with 12 goals.
Persia Digest reports that Fulad Mahan, Guitipasand, and Tasisat-e Daryayi teams had previously won the AFC futsal championships to make Iran the record holder of Asia in this field.
