(Persia Digest) – The Iranian caravan has won another gold medal in wrestling and 2 bronze in taekwondo and fencing at the close of competitions on the second day of the Asian Games, to rank 6th with a score of 8 medals.

The second day began for Iran with Parviz Hadi winning gold in the free wrestling 125kg category, Farzan Ashourzadeh winning bronze in taekwondo -85kg category, and Ali Pakdaman winning bronze in sabre fencing.

Persia Digest reports that the third day also began with Zahra Kiani winning silver in taolu to become the first Iranian woman medal winner in this field, ranking 2nd with a score of 19.41 points. She practices Jianshu and Qiangshu. This was Iran’s 9th medal win at the Asian Games, making Zahra Kiani the first Iranian taolu athlete to win a medal at the Asian Games.
