(Persia Digest) – Iran’s top diplomat has said: “The Americans are used to being in deals which favor them. But we heard them say they were unable to do this in the JCPOA. Our level of US mistrust is high and this has not changed before and after the JCPOA.”

Javad Zarif added: “Iran is different from the other countries in the region. They depend on outsiders to provide their security; but Iran relies on its own people and can guarantee its own security.”

He stated: “The US is in international isolation today. The Europeans have taken measures to safeguard the JCPOA and MSE enterprises. The 18MM euros aid is to expand ties between Iran and Europe and is not connected to the JCPOA. MSEs are the engine for progress in Europe. This is also a vital part of progress for Iran’s future.”

The Iranian Foreign Minister continued: “Since Trump’s withdrawal from the JCPOA, the Americans have not attained their goals and they have tried to initiate numerous demands of talks with Iran, followed by the Iran Action Group. Today, America’s closest allies are opposing it. The US did not predict being faced with such a foolproof deal (JCPOA) that it cannot be taken apart.”
