(Persia Digest) – The Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta have continued with weightlifting for Iran’s Behdad Salimi and Saeid Ali-Hosseini bagging gold and silver in the +105kgs category respectively.

In a snatch move, Behdad Salimi lifted his 208kgs weight. In the same category, team member Saeid Ali-Hosseini also lifted his weight in his third attempt.

In clean and jerk move, Salimi lifted 254kgs for gold, to win the championship with a total of 461kgs.

Ali-Hosseini succeeded in lifting 248kgs in his second attempt, but lost in his third attempt to lift 254kgs. He took silver with a total of 456kgs.

Participants in this category included five athletes from Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Chinese Taipei, Syria, and Turkmenistan.

Persia Digest reports that gold medalist and the Asian Games strongest man title owner, Behdad Salimi, has now said goodbye to the world of championships.

In his final gesture at the Games, Salimi kissed the floor, took his shoes off, kissed the barbell, officially announced his farewell, and gloriously left the world of competitions with his gold medal.
