(Persia Digest) – The gold medal at the 2018 Powerlifting Asian Open Championships in Japan has gone to Iranian weightlifter on Wednesday.
On the last day of the championships, Siamand Rahman in the +107kgs ranked first by lifting the 280kgs weights.
Mansour Pourmirzaei also recorded 245kgs for silver.
The Iranian team won a total of 10 medals (2 gold, 5 silver, and 2 bronze) in the adult category and one gold in the youth category for the runner-up place at the 2018 Powerlifting Asian Open Championships. China took the championship with 14 golds and Uzbekistan ranked 3rd with 2 golds.
The Asian Open Championships is a prerequisite of the Tokyo Paralympics. It began work on 8 September 2018 and the closing ceremony was today, 12 September, in Kitakyushu, Japan.
