(Persia Digest) – The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement announcing that issuing e-visas without labels in passports for tourists traveling to Iran has begun as from 23 September 2018 in all IR of Iran consulates and the country’s international airports.
The pilot plan has already been successfully tried at Iranian consulates in Doha, Muscat, IKA airport in Tehran, and the cities of Mashhad, and Shiraz.
E-visas without stickers will be issued as follows:
1. Entry visas (single-entry), Touristic visas (single-entry), Pilgrimage visas (single-entry), Family visits (single-entry), and health tourism visas.
2. Citizens of the US, UK, Canada, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Jordan, Columbia, Bangladesh, and Somalia will receive their visas with labels in their passports.
3. E-visas will be printed on A4 paper and given to all other applicants. The visa must remain in the possession of the applicants throughout their visit and their exit from Iran will be stamped on this paper instead of their passports.
Iranian consulates in Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkey, which are Iran’s neighboring countries, are not included in this plan and visas will be issued with labels in their passports as before until further notice.
