(Persia Digest) – The Head of Iran’s Tourism Organization has announced the news of a free 72-hour transit visa for tourists being arranged with the Foreign Ministry.
Persia Digest reports that the 72-hour visa will be issued at IKA international airport in Tehran.
Ali-Asghar Munesan also pointed to other ongoing plans at the Tourism Organization, saying: “These include digital currency which is being discussed with the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), the winter holidays which will be implemented in the current year, and a group visa waiver program for Chinese tourists which is being worked on with the Foreign Ministry.”
He also said visas for a number of designated countries were also being abolished, adding: “This will take place in concordance with the Foreign Ministry. An initial step has been taken with the unilateral visa waiver for Oman. This is expected to increase their number of health tourists to Iran.”
