(Persia Digest) – The concert “Nagahan Rastakhiz” [And then resurrection] will take place on 21 December 2018 at the Vancouver Orpheum theater and music venue. Vocalist Alireza Ghorbani will be accompanied by the Vancouver Opera Orchestra conducted by Leslie Dala, and the Bach choir. Pieces by Ahmad Pejman and Houshang Kamkar will be performed.

More than 150 Canadian musicians will play pieces by big Iranian composers. Talin Ohanian, soprano vocalist, and Sanaz Sotudeh, piano soloist, will also perform at the concert.

Alireza Ghorbani concert in Switzerland

The Vancouver Opera Orchestra was formed in 1977 with members of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. The members are prominent Canadian musicians who perform at a very high level. This is the second time the orchestra is playing pieces of Iranian music.

Iranian classical vocalist, Alireza Ghorbani, also performs with Iran’s National Orchestra conducted by Farhad Fakhreddini.

Over the past few months, Ghorbani has concentrated on tours abroad. He recently participated at the polyphonic song festival with a group of prominent Iranian musicians. He also participated at the Colours of Ostrava Festival in the Czech Republic and was warmly received by audiences.
