(Persia Digest) – Iranian photographer, Maryam Firuzi, has received the Alfred Fried Photography Award. Her work “Reading for Tehran streets” was shortlisted among 15,700 images submitted from 122 countries.
Four other collections from Switzerland, the Netherlands, Argentina, and the US were also accredited.
“Reading for Tehran streets” was first shown at Sales Gallery in Tehran and the Kuala Lumpur International Photoawards: Portraiture, where it was also shortlisted.
The image has a romantic theme about books, showing a woman reading in a busy city. The Alfred Fried Photography Award is organized in Austria every year on the theme of peace. This is the second oldest photography competition in Europe.
