(Persia Digest) - The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson has responded to recent statements by the President of the United States and his national security advisor, as well as parts of the US Counterterrorism Strategy document accusing Iran of supporting terrorism and destabilizing the West Asian region.

Ghasemi rejected these by saying: "The repetitive allegations made by US officials, especially the President and some of his entourage, are due to the successive failures this country has experienced in recent months faced with the resolve, determination, and wisdom of Iran and Iranians.”

Ghasemi added: “What the world saw at the recent UN General Assembly was an isolated America and its unilateral policies. What the people witnessed did not in any way conform to the usual incantations of the US President and his national security advisor.”
