(Persia Digest) – An Iranian movie star has joined the campaign to fight breast cancer and raise awareness about the disease.
As reported by Persia Digest (PD), breast cancer is one of the most common diseases in Iranian women which continues to take many victims. But a national campaign against breast cancer has now started in Iran to raise awareness about prevention and cure while providing support for cancer patients.
Famous Iranian actress, Leila Hatami, from the Oscar winning movie “A Separation” and the much acclaimed film “Subdued”, has accepted to become an ambassador of awareness for this dangerous disease.
The national campaign of “All forge ahead to prevent cancer” for an early diagnosis of the disease officially began work on Thursday 18 October 2018. Thirty-six information centers were launched simultaneously in 16 provinces and 19 cities in Iran. Face-to-face awareness talks and the distribution of educational brochures on the promotion of healthy living, breast cancer, and self-examination methods will be available for visitors.
