(Persia Digest) – The Spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Bahram Ghasemi, has rejected recent claims by the US intelligence, judiciary, and security organs of meddling in US congressional mid-term elections as unfounded, saying: “Iran's principle policy is non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries.”

He continued: “Attempts by American officials to attribute involvement in US congressional elections to Iran is false, possibly due to some kind of unknown illusion.”

He said that the US national security advisor had already made a similar claim without any documented evidence, adding: “The White House has for some time been trying to attribute allegations to other countries by adopting a specific internal policy, and adds a country to its fictional list every day.”

Ghasemi reiterated: “The President of the United States claims that since he came to power, Iran has been busy with its internal affairs and is so weak that it cannot even think of regional issues and only thinks of its survival. How, then, can such a country meddle in the congressional elections of “such a country”?
