(Persia Digest) – The Iranian Foreign Minister has responded to the US Treasury Department sanctioning two Iranian citizens.

Javad Zarif tweeted: “To deflect from headlines on Saudi brutality in Istanbul and across Yemen, US Treasury—while in Saudi Arabia, no less—sanctions Iran for "supporting" anti-Iran Taliban. Conveniently omitting that US is negotiating with the very same Taliban now & its clients have long backed it.”

Persia Digest (PD) reports that the US Treasury Department sanctioned two Iranian citizens, claiming they gave financial support to Taliban, amid a global crisis developing in the case of Khashoggi murder at the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul.
