(Persia Digest) – The Iranian Ambassador to the UK has responded to the declamations of the US Ambassador in this country.
Hamid Baeidinejad tweeted: “USAmbUK: It is not companies that must choose between the US and Iran; it is that the US can either abandon the JCPOA and violate international law--continuing to lose credibility--or return to the accord and uphold an international agreement, which itself has signed.”
In another post, he tweeted in Persian: “Mr Trump’s Ambassador in London has threatened companies that they can either work with Iran or with the US. This threatening, bullying literature is a blatant hypocrisy, at least by one businessman whose grandfather’s corporation “Johnson & Johnson” was active in Iran for years, even under the sanctions.”
Persia Digest reports that the US Ambassador to the UK, Woody Johnson, had tweeted: “Companies have a choice: Do business with #Iran or with the U.S. - you can’t do both. Sanctions come into effect Nov 4.”
The sanctions against Iran were reimposed following the unilateral US withdrawal from the 2015 JCPOA nuclear deal signed between Iran and the P5+1, endorsed by a UN resolution.
