(Persia Digest) – Iran’s Foreign Minister has said that the results of US congressional elections will not affect Iran-US engagement, adding: “Our decisions and policies are not based on changes in domestic US affairs. I do not believe the elections will have much effect on Iran. of course, Trump may encounter problems in his domestic policies.”

In answer to whether the Europeans and Americans are playing good cop bad cop in the JCPOA nuclear deal, Zarif answered: “I do not believe this. The EU and US have disagreements in the JCPOA and there does not seem to be a good cop bad cop at play here.”
