(Persia Digest) – Iran’s top diplomat arrived in the Italian capital Wednesday night at the helm of a delegation to take part in the Mediterranean Dialogue.
In addition to meeting with his Italian counterparts and other authorities, Javad Zarif will also take part in a number of economic and cultural programs.
The trip has taken place on the official invitation of the Italian Foreign Minister. Zarif will attend the Mediterranean Dialogue with 56 partner countries.
After landing at Ciampino airport in Rome, the Iranian FM said: “The annual Mediterranean Dialogue is a good opportunity for Iran to voice its concerns over the dangerous situation in the Middle East, especially the nationalistic US policies, extremism, and terrorism.”
He continued: “We will also conduct talks with some Italian officials and other participating countries on the sidelines. A meeting is also scheduled with Iranians in Italy, and Italian businessmen and entrepreneurs.”
He added: “We will also discuss the SPV with the Italians.”
