(Persia Digest) – The 2nd Int’l congress on congenital and structural heart disease for Iranian and European specialists is being held in Mashhad’s Razavi International Hospital with the participation of twenty countries.
Over 600 heart specialists from twenty countries, including European countries, are participating at the congress.
Four large European associations – the CTO (Chronic Total Occlusion), CSI (Treating peripheral and coronary artery disease), EBC (Treatment of coronary bifurcation lesions), and TOBI (Treatment of serious Gram-negative bacterial infections) – will be present with their scientific and executive management teams.
The congress is being held at the Razavi International Hospital in collaboration with the CSI Foundation from 5-8 December 2018.
The President of the Iranian Heart Association stated that heart disease is the main cause of death in Iran, adding: “Congenital heart disease and treatment, which is being practiced by all expert Iranian physicians trough non-surgical procedures, is the main topic of discussion at the Caspian meeting. Activities pursued by the congress were in the surgical field previously. Today, this has moved towards semi-invasive, non-invasive, and percutaneous coronary interventions.
Fereydoun Nohi stated: “Another significant activity of the Congress is its training aspect for young Iranian doctors; because prominent physicians from more than twenty countries are present at the meeting together with prominent Iranian physicians to train participants in practical procedures.”
Nohi continued: “Lateral symposia on cardiovascular nursing, congenital heart disease, and fetal ultrasound, each of which can be a major congress, are also being included in this 4-day congress and we hope it will be useful for all participants.”
