(Persia Digest) – Celebrated Iranian film director, producer and screenwriter Majid Majidi has received a 'Lifetime Achievement' award at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), India.

Majidi, who also served as Jury chairman at international section of the 23rd IFFK edition, received his award on 7 December (Friday).

During his 25 years of activities in the film industry, Majidi has earned international acclaim for movies such as ‘The Children of Heaven’ (1997), ‘The Color of Paradise’ (1999), and ‘The Songs of Sparrows’ (2008).

Meanwhile, the latest movie of another acclaimed Iranian film-maker, Asghar Farhadi, called ‘Everybody knows’ was the inaugural film of the IFFK.

The 23rd edition of the IFFK will be held in Thiruvananthapuram, India from December 7-13.
