(Persia Digest) – The CEO of Iran Energy Exchange (IRENEX) has said: “Some countries are pursuing the purchase of Iranian oil on IRENEX sand eeking information through their embassies in Tehran. A number of foreign companies have also directly contacted us for this matter and have even received a trading code.
In an interview with IRNA, Seyed Ali Hosseini said about the new stage of oil sales on IRENEX: “The new stage will be planned and announced by the Ministry of Petroleum.”
Speaking about the volume of oil offered on IRENEX, he said: “We have received a high volume of demand for the oil on sale on IRENEX. There are no restrictions imposed by the National Iranian Oil Company on supply.”
Persia Digest (PD) reports that 1MM barrels of crude oil was on sale in the first stage on 28 October 2018, but only eight consignments of 35 thousand barrels (280 thousand barrels) were sold at USD 74.85.
In the second stage on 11 November, 700 barrels of crude was sold at USD 64.97.
To date, IRENEX has sold oil 20 percent in rials and 80 percent in foreign currency. But with the present demand, this will be sold 100 percent in rials.
