(Persia Digest) – Iran’s Team Melli has beaten Vietnam in its Group D with two goals at the AFC Asian Cup.
The team played another offensive game and was able score in min 38. The ball was centered by Saman Ghoddous and scored with a headshot by Sardar Azmoun. The first half ended 1-0 while Iran lost opportunities to score more goals.
In the second half, Queiroz, Iran’s coach made two simultaneous substitutions by replacing Taromi and Amiri with Mahdi Torabi and Ahmad Nourollahi.
Vietnam had the chance to score in the second half without success.
In min 69, Sardar Azmoun got the ball in Vietnam’s penalty box and dribbled past their fullbacks to put the ball in the goal with a precise shot of the left foot.
Iran’s Team Melli missed a number of other goals; Vietnam’s team also missed Iran’s goal in min 89.
The match ended 2-0 in Iran’s favor, securing a place for Team Melli in the next round of games.
