(Persia Digest) – Iran’s Chief of Police has announced: “Opposition groups have chosen 2019 and the 40th Islamic Revolution anniversary celebrations for their sabotage and disruptions.”
Commander Hossein Ashtari pointed out that everyone must be vigilant until the end of the Iranian year in March, saying: “Opposition groups are planning to disrupt the peace and security of the revolution celebrations on 11 February and continue unrests until Nowruz. We must do our utmost to make sure the celebrations will be conducted in full security.”
He emphasized: “The enemy is working to disrupt the peace of the country. They have been making plans to do this during the Fajr and Nowruz celebrations.”
Persia Digest (PD) reports that 11 February is the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. It is a public holiday and marches are held across the country in support of the revolution.
