(Persia Digest) – Iran’s President has emphasized that the country’s current issues pertain largely to pressures by the US and its allies applied on Iran, saying: “In its latest showdown with the Iranian nation which began last January, the US has failed in terms of political, legal, international, regional, and psychological warfare in Iran. It is also doomed to fail in its economic warfare with the fortitude and sacrifices of the people.”
On the threshold of the 1979 Revolution’s anniversary, in his speech at Imam Khomeini’s mausoleum, Hassan Rouhani said: “The US has not only abrogated its commitments to Iran, but it has also done so towards Europe and China in NAFTA. It also left the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), repealed the rights of Muslims and Palestinian, oppressed Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan, and helped the oppressors and attackers of the impoverished people of Yemen.”
Rouhani continued: “These are the toughest economic pressures on the people of Iran since the Islamic Revolution forty years ago. God willing, we will cross this hurdle with unity, hope, and solidarity.”
