(Persia Digest) – The 34th Tehran Short Film Festival opened today with 47 fiction and documentary international submissions.
The countries taking part include Armenia, Poland, the US, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, Hungary, Australia, Russia, the Philippines, New Zealand, Brazil, Estonia, Singapore, Georgia, Finland, Belgium, Argentina, Ireland, Romania, China, Japan, Taiwan, the Czech Republic, S Korea, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Slovakia, Switzerland, Canada, Vietnam, Bulgaria, Portugal, India, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Peru, and Iraq.
12 short films in the Cinema of Asia category, seven films in the religion category, and 75 films from 47 countries in the international category will be screened at theater no 4 of Mellat cinema complex. The international category also has a video art section this year where 14 video arts have been submitted. This category also includes documentaries, fiction, and animation. The 34th Short Film Festival will run from 17-22 October 2017 in Tehran. It will open at 13h00 today, Tuesday 17 October.
The first day of the Festival is “Book and Cinema Day” with the presence of Houshang Moradi Kermani debating the relationship between cinema and literature.
