(Persia Digest) – In the latest report by the Times Higher Education magazine, Iran tops the list of most universities with 29 in the Muslim world.
The World University Rankings 2019 is one of the world’s best-known list of top universities. There are 1258 universities from 86 countries on the 2019 list.
Iran has had a ranking on the list with one university since 2012 and has broken an impressive record with 29 universities in 2019.
Statistics name Oxford, Cambridge, and Stanford universities at the top of the global list.
After Iran with 29 universities in the Islamic world, there is Turkey, Egypt, and Malaysia with 23, 19, and 11 universities in that order.
The Times Higher Education world university ranking system was published for the first time in 2004 in a collaboration with Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), before it turned to Thomson Reuters in 2010 for a new system.
The methodology calculates rankings by using three sources of information provided by university and higher education institutes (self-declared), the data of popularity surveys by higher education experts, and information on peer-reviewed literature indexed on Scopus.
