(Persia Digest) - The chairman of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce announced that a special strategic office has been established to review the water crisis and “a report provided by the office has been sent to the Supreme Leader.”
Gholam-Hossein Shafei added: “Measures taken have led to the formation of a joint working group by the Chamber of Commerce and Ministry of Energy. The workgroup has conducted extensive research on water crises the issues it entails.”
According to a report by Persia Digest (PD), the water crisis has become more tangible in recent years and in some cases it has even led to public unrest and protests.
The water crisis is taken seriously by Iranian officials and a number even believe it is the most important enemy of the Islamic system.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Netanyahu, an arch opponent of the Islamic Republic, has so far used the issue of water crisis repeatedly to weaken the Iranian government.
