(Persia Digest) - Iran have qualified for the 2019 Basketball World Cup after beating group F winners Australia in their final qualifying match in the Asian zone.

Press TV reports that hosting Australia at Azadi Hall in Tehran, Iran took control of the match early on, leading their opponents by 10 after the first quarter and 13 at the intermission.

Iran remained in control in the 2nd half as well and won it 85 to 74. Mohammad Jamshidi was Iran's Top Scorer with 25 points, while Behnam Yakhchali had 21 points and 4 assists. Iran now finish 3rd in group F to qualify for the World Cup in China along with Australia and Japan.
