(Persia Digest) – Renovation works in Fathali Shah Qajar’s summer residence, the Soleimanieh Palace, have now been completed and this will open to the public for the Nowruz holidays this coming year.

The Soleimanieh Palace was commissioned by Fathali Shah Qajar as a summer residence in a large garden in Karaj. The walls of the palace are ornamented with large mural portraits of Agha Mohammad Khan Qajar and Fathali Shah.

Fathali Shah was the second Qajar king who ruled over Iran for 36 years and nine months as from 1797.

Free tours to visit certain historic monuments of Alborz Province have also been organized for the Nowruz holidays, together with Nowruz festivals like the introduction of the Haft Sin and other Nowruz ceremonies.
