(Persia Digest) – The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran has emphasized that Iran will stay in Syria for as long as its government requires it, reiterating: “Netanyahu’s jeering and sneering and his pointless trips will not affect Iran’s presence in Syria.”
Ali Shamkhani added: “Iran is in Syria at the invitation of its government to stabilize the situation there and help its people. It will stay there for as long as the Syrian government requires its.”
Persia Digest (PD) reported that following Netanyahu’s recent trip to Russia, Vladimir Putin announced the news of a workshop to arrange the withdrawal of all foreign troops from Syria. Israeli officials have repeatedly stated that Iranian advisors must leave Syria and are also trying to recruit Russia to agree.
Speaking of US threats to impose further sanctions on Iran following the unveiling of its missile city, Shamkhani underlined: “Iran does not ask for permission or consult with anyone on the four main axes of missile range, destruction power, accuracy, or deployment speed.”
He added: “Only our defense needs dictate what to do in the defensive and missile program.”
